Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use cover your use of selfmadepm.com (the "site"). That includes the blog, videos, Help Center, the LocalPM tool, and the free PDU courses. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information the site does and doesn't collect. Please read it together with these terms.

Who we are

Self Made PM is operated by Angel Reyes Consulting LLC (Subthesis). In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean Angel Reyes Consulting LLC. "You" means anyone who visits or uses the site.

Using the site

The site is free. There are no accounts, logins, or subscriptions, and the site doesn't sell anything.

The site is meant for a general adult and professional audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and children under 13 should not use it. If you are between 13 and 17, please use the site only with permission from a parent or guardian.

Please use the site lawfully. Don't try to disrupt it, overload it, or get around how it works.

Content is for information only

Articles, videos, courses, templates, and prompts on the site are for general education and information. They are not professional, legal, financial, or career advice. Decide for yourself, or with a qualified professional, what fits your situation.

Much of the content is about AI tools. AI outputs can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Check any AI-generated plan, report, estimate, or document yourself before you rely on it or share it. You are responsible for how you use those outputs, including what information you give to AI tools.

Any results or time savings described on the site or in the book are estimates. Your results depend on your projects, tools, and skills, and are not guaranteed.

LocalPM

LocalPM is a free, browser-based project management tool. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty.

Everything you enter in LocalPM is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. Nothing is sent to us, and we have no access to it. This means:

Your data can be lost if you clear your browser's site data, use a private or incognito window, switch browsers or browser profiles, change or reset your device, or if your browser removes stored data.
LocalPM has no backup, export, or sync feature. Data in one browser does not appear in another.
You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important.
We cannot see, restore, or recover your LocalPM data under any circumstances.

LocalPM keeps working offline once the page has loaded, but you need an internet connection to open or reload it. Please don't use LocalPM as the only record of information you can't afford to lose.

PDU courses and certificates

The PDU courses are free video courses with a knowledge check and a downloadable certificate of completion. Please understand the following before you rely on them:

Self-reported. The courses fall under PMI's Online or Digital Media category. You report any PDUs yourself to PMI.
Not PMI-approved. Self Made PM is not a PMI Authorized Training Partner. PMI has not reviewed, approved, or endorsed these courses.
What the certificate shows. The certificate records the learning time recorded in your browser for that course. That time is rounded down to the nearest 0.25 PDU and capped at the course's listed maximum. The listed value is a maximum, not a guaranteed amount.
Progress stays in your browser. Course progress is stored only on your device. If it is cleared or you switch devices, you may need to start the course again, and we cannot restore it.
Your claims are your responsibility. You are responsible for making accurate claims to PMI, following PMI's current rules, and keeping your own records, such as your certificate and notes, in case of an audit.
No guarantee. We don't guarantee that PMI will accept any claim.
Be honest. Don't alter a certificate, create one for someone else, or claim learning time you didn't actually spend.

The book

The Project Brain: Evolving Project Managers is sold through Amazon (Kindle Direct Publishing). We don't process any payments. Purchases, delivery, returns, and refunds are handled by Amazon under Amazon's terms and policies.

The digital toolkit is included with purchase of the book (Kindle or print). It is hosted on subthesis.com, and its address is printed in the book.

Intellectual property

You may:

Read, watch, and use the content for your own personal, non-commercial learning.
Quote brief passages, as long as you credit Self Made PM and link to the original page.

You may not, without our written permission:

Copy, republish, or redistribute articles, videos, or course materials, in whole or in large part.
Bulk-copy or scrape the site to build a competing product, resell the content, or include it in a commercial dataset.
Remove copyright notices or present our content as your own.

Trademarks

PMI, PMP, and PMI-ACP are registered marks of the Project Management Institute, Inc. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other product and company names mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners.

We use these names only to describe or refer to those products and organizations. Self Made PM is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by PMI, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, or any other company mentioned.

Third-party links and embedded videos

The site links to other websites, such as Amazon and YouTube. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, practices, or availability. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Videos on the site are hosted by YouTube. The YouTube player loads only when you click play. Once it does, YouTube's terms and privacy policy apply to that player. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and everything on it, including LocalPM, the courses, and certificates, are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We don't promise that the site will be available, error-free, or secure, or that content will always be current or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Angel Reyes Consulting LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes lost data, lost profits, lost time, or any denied PDU claim, arising from your use of the site, LocalPM, the courses, or any content.

Because the site is free, our total liability for any claim related to the site or these terms is limited to US$100.

Some places don't allow certain limits on liability. In those places, these limits apply only as far as the law allows.

Indemnity

If your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees. This includes, for example, altered certificates or false PDU claims.

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.

Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have that cannot be waived under the law where you live.

Changes to the site and these terms

We may change, add, or remove any part of the site, including LocalPM and the courses, at any time. We may also update these terms. When we do, we'll change the "updated" date on this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new terms.

Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the site. Amazon's terms separately govern book purchases.

If we don't enforce a part of these terms, that doesn't mean we give up the right to do so later.
