Who we are
Self Made PM (selfmadepm.com, "the site") is operated by Angel Reyes Consulting LLC (Subthesis), referred to here as "we" or "us." This policy explains what information the site handles and how. Our other site's policy is at subthesis.com/legal. Use of the site is also covered by our Terms of Use.
Summary
- The site has no accounts, logins, comments, or sign-up forms, and no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts.
- We do not collect personal information on our own servers. The site's own code sends nothing about you to us.
- LocalPM and the PDU courses save your work in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device, and we cannot see, back up, or restore it.
- The name you type for a PDU certificate is used in your browser to create the PDF and is never sent to us.
- YouTube is contacted only when you click play on a video. From that point, YouTube's and Google's policies apply.
- The site does not set cookies of its own. We do not sell or share personal information.
- If you email us, we receive your email address and your message.
Information we collect
On our servers: none. The site is a static website. Its own code has no cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or background requests that send data to us, and we use no data processors of our own. The site's font is served from selfmadepm.com, not from a font service.
Email you send us. If you write to angel@subthesis.com, we receive your email address, your message, and anything else you choose to include. We use it only to respond to you and to keep a record of the correspondence.

Information stored in your browser
Some features save information in your browser's localStorage. This data stays in the browser profile you used on that device. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and it does not sync between browsers or devices.

Clearing "cookies and other site data" for selfmadepm.com in your browser deletes all of these. That cannot be undone: because we never receive this data, we cannot recover it. Before clearing anything, read Where does LocalPM store my data? for how to back up your projects.
Your certificate name
When you finish a PDU course, you type the name to print on your certificate. The site uses it in your browser to draw the PDF, and the name is never transmitted. Only if you tick "Remember my name on this device" (it is off unless you turn it on) is the name saved in pdu-learner-name, so you don't have to type it again. If you untick the box, the saved name is removed when you create the certificate.
Third-party services
Hosting (GitHub Pages). The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. To deliver pages to your browser, GitHub processes request data such as your IP address under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
YouTube videos (only when you click play). Blog posts, the Video Library, and PDU courses show a video thumbnail served from selfmadepm.com. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click play. When you do, the video loads through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player at youtube-nocookie.com, and from then on YouTube's own policies and cookies apply, including the Google Privacy Policy.
Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. We use these services to see how the site performs in Google and Bing search. They give us aggregate search data, such as which pages appear in results and how often they are clicked, that the search engines collect on their own sites. They add no code to selfmadepm.com. IndexNow. When we publish updates, we notify participating search engines through IndexNow. These notices contain page URLs only and no information about visitors.
Links to other sites. The site links to Amazon (the book is sold through Amazon KDP; we don't use affiliate tags), YouTube, and subthesis.com. Those sites have their own policies, and what happens there is outside our control.
Cookies
The site does not set cookies of its own. The storage described above is localStorage, not cookies, and it is never sent with requests. If you click play on a video, YouTube may set cookies under its own policies. For a plain-language overview, see Does this site use cookies or tracking?
Do Not Track
The site does not respond differently to Do Not Track signals, because it does not track visitors across sites or over time.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), may give you the right to know what personal information we have about you, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of its sale or sharing.
- We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined in the CCPA.
- We do not collect sensitive personal information.
- The only personal information we may hold is email correspondence you send us.
To exercise any of these rights, email angel@subthesis.com. We may ask for information needed to confirm your request, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Visitors in the EU/UK
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR may apply. The only personal data we process is email you send us. We process it on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to you, or your consent in contacting us.
You may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability, as well as the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Email angel@subthesis.com to exercise these rights. Data kept in your browser's local storage is under your control, and you can delete it at any time as described above.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, email angel@subthesis.com and we will delete it.
Data retention
We keep email correspondence only as long as needed to respond to you and for our records, and then delete it. We hold no other personal information, so there is nothing else for us to retain. Data in your browser stays there until you delete it or clear site data.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because your LocalPM projects, course progress, and certificate name stay in your browser, their security also depends on your device and browser. Anyone with access to your browser profile can see that data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new "Updated" date.
