What LocalPM is good for

LocalPM gives you the core agile workflow: a backlog, sprints, a four-column kanban board, standups, retrospectives, and velocity reports. You don't set up an account or pay for seats. Each copy of LocalPM belongs to one browser, so it works best when one person owns the board:

  • Solo project managers who want a lightweight place to plan sprints and track progress without adopting an enterprise tool.
  • Freelancers juggling client projects, with a separate project and short project key for each client so work never gets mixed up.
  • Small teams sharing one screen, such as a standup or planning session run from a single laptop or meeting-room display. LocalPM has no multi-user sync, so one person drives the board.
  • People learning agile practices who want to practice writing stories, estimating points, running sprints, and reading a velocity chart before using a larger platform at work.

How your data is handled

Everything you create in LocalPM is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. There is no account, no login, and no server that receives your projects, so nothing is uploaded or shared. After your first visit, LocalPM opens and works without an internet connection, and you can install it as an app. The trade-off is that your data lives only in that browser profile: it does not sync to other devices, and clearing your browser's site data deletes it. Use LocalPM's Backup button to export your projects to a file you can import again later, read how LocalPM stores your data before relying on it for important work, and see our privacy policy for how the rest of the site handles information.

Choosing a project management tool?

LocalPM is intentionally simple. If you are comparing it with other options, start with our practical guide to choosing project management tools, which compares platforms such as Jira, Trello, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Planner and lists the questions to ask before you buy. For teams that need shared boards and AI features, our roundup of 10 AI-driven project management tools to compare in 2026 explains what each one does best and how to score them yourself.

If you are exploring where AI fits into your process, read about AI-powered collaboration platforms for project teams, practical AI workflows for project managers, and our broader guide to artificial intelligence in project management.
