Can I back up or export my LocalPM data?

Not yet. LocalPM has no export, import, or backup feature, so your data exists only in the browser where you created it. Keeping that browser's site data intact is the way to keep it safe.

LocalPM doesn't have an export, import, or backup feature today. Everything you create is saved automatically in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device, which is what keeps it private, but it also means there is no copy anywhere else.

What can erase your data

Because your projects live in the browser, anything that clears this site's stored data removes them permanently:

  • Clearing browsing data or "cookies and site data" for all sites, or for selfmadepm.com
  • Using a private or incognito window, which discards everything when the window closes
  • Removing or resetting the browser profile you used
  • Browser cleanup tools or extensions that wipe site storage

There is no undo and no server copy to restore from.

How to keep your data safe

  1. Use LocalPM in the same browser and profile every time, in a normal (not private) window.
  2. If you clear browsing data, exclude selfmadepm.com or skip "cookies and other site data".
  3. Keep important decisions outside LocalPM as well. For example, paste sprint goals and retro action items into your project documents.

Moving to another computer

Data can't be transferred between browsers or devices yet, so start fresh on the new machine. Read Does LocalPM work offline or across devices? for the details.

If you want to see exactly where the data is stored, read Where does LocalPM store my data?.
