What does the book cover?
The book shows you how to build a dedicated, automated PMO inside your computer. It covers building a Project Brain, then using it for planning, visuals, meetings, simulation, reporting, and optional automation.
The Project Brain: Evolving Project Managers isn't a book about chatting with chatbots. It's a technical blueprint for building a dedicated, automated Project Management Office (PMO) inside your computer, written for overwhelmed project managers.
The big idea
You build a Project Brain: a persistent knowledge base that knows your deadlines, acronyms, and stakeholders before you ask. With that in place, AI drafts your plans, visuals, and reports, and you shift from "producer" to "editor", reviewing and improving the work instead of writing it from scratch.
What you learn to do
- Build and feed the Brain with a three-tier document structure: Constitution, News, and Library
- Plan with work breakdown structures, RACI matrices, and estimation
- Create visuals such as Gantt charts and dashboards, which the book calls Magic Window artifacts
- Process meetings into usable outputs
- Simulate stakeholders to rehearse conversations and presentations
- Write weekly reports
- Handle AI confusion when answers go wrong
- Automate with a local AI environment, Python scripts, MCP servers, and a Next.js command center (technical chapters)
- Use Gemini alongside Claude, in a supplement chapter

Tools used
Claude is the primary tool, with Google Gemini for deep research and large-context analysis. See Which AI tools does the book cover?
How technical is it?
No coding is required for Chapters 1–8. Chapters 11–13 are technical. See Which chapters involve code or technical setup?
What's included with purchase
A digital toolkit with ready-to-use versions of every prompt, template, and script. The toolkit is hosted on Subthesis, and its address is printed in the book. See How do I access the Digital Toolkit?
