How do I add team members and set capacity?
Open Team, click Add Member, and enter a name, role, daily capacity in hours, and avatar color. Removing a member clears their name from any stories assigned to them.
Each LocalPM project has its own team list. Adding people there gives you a quick view of who's involved, their role, and how many hours a day they can give the project.
Add a team member
- Open your project and choose Team in the sidebar.
- Click Add Member.
- Fill in the dialog:
- Name (required), such as the person's full name.
- Role: Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developer, Designer, or QA Engineer. Developer is the default.
- Daily Capacity (hours): how many hours a day this person works on the project. It defaults to 8.
- Avatar Color: pick one of the color swatches. The avatar shows the person's initials in that color.
- Click Add Member.
The person appears as a card showing their avatar, role, and capacity, for example "Capacity: 6h/day".
How capacity is used
Capacity is a reference number displayed on the member's card. LocalPM doesn't calculate sprint capacity automatically or compare it with story points, so use it as an input when you plan: add up the hours your team has for the sprint, then sanity-check that against the points you're committing to. Team capacity planning without a spreadsheet explains a simple way to do this.
Team members and stories
A story's Assignee is a free-text field in the story dialog, so type the team member's name exactly as it appears on the Team page. Team members also appear in the Author list on the Standup page, which saves typing names each day.
Edit or remove a member
There's no edit option for a team member. To change someone's role or capacity, remove them and add them again.
To remove someone, click the x on their card (its tooltip reads "Remove member") and confirm. Any story whose assignee matches that person's name is unassigned. The stories themselves are kept.
If you remove and re-add someone to change their details, reassign their stories afterwards.
For ideas on using roles and colors to read the board faster, see Tracking team avatar colors and roles for quick identification.
