How do I create a project in LocalPM?

On the LocalPM Dashboard, select New Project, enter a project name and a short key, optionally add a description, then select Create Project. The project appears as a card you can open.

Every piece of work in LocalPM belongs to a project, so creating one is the first step.

Steps

  1. Open /tools/localpm/. You'll land on the Projects dashboard.
  2. Select New Project (on an empty dashboard the button reads Create Project).
  3. Fill in the dialog:
    • Project Name (required), for example "Website Redesign"
    • Key (required), a short uppercase code of up to 6 characters. LocalPM suggests one from the first 5 letters of the name as you type, and you can change it.
    • Description (optional), a line or two about what the project covers
  4. Select Create Project.

The new project appears as a card on the dashboard showing its key, name, progress bar, and story, point, and member counts. Select the card to open the project's Overview.

To close the dialog without creating anything, press Esc.

What to do next

Once the project exists, the sidebar gives you its views. A typical setup order is:

  1. Add people under Team (see How do I add team members and set capacity?).
  2. Create epics under Epics if your work has larger themes.
  3. Add stories in the Backlog (see How do I create a story, bug, task, or spike?).
  4. Plan your first sprint under Sprints.
