Does the site work on mobile and with assistive tech?
Yes. The site adapts to phones and tablets, and its links, menus, and search fields work by keyboard. The gap is LocalPM drag-and-drop, which needs a mouse; edit the story to change status instead.
The site is built to work on phones, tablets, and desktops, and with keyboards and screen readers. Here's what you can expect and where the limits are.
On phones and tablets
- Responsive layout. Pages rearrange to fit smaller screens, so the blog, videos, and Help Center are readable without zooming.
- Mobile menu. On narrow screens the main navigation collapses behind a menu button, which is labelled for screen readers and reports whether it's open.
- Wide tables in articles scroll sideways inside their own box instead of breaking the page.
Keyboard and screen readers
- Keyboard-reachable links. Navigation, article links, category buttons, and search boxes are standard links, buttons, and fields, so you can reach them with Tab and activate them with Enter.
- Labelled search fields. The search boxes on the Blog and Video Library pages have labels ("Search articles" and "Search videos") that screen readers announce, and the result count updates as you type.
- Category filters are announced as a group, and each button indicates whether it's currently selected.
- Breadcrumb navigation at the top of articles and section pages shows where you are and lets you jump back up a level.
- Headings structure each article, which helps if you navigate by heading.
LocalPM limitations
LocalPM runs in your browser and has a collapsible sidebar to save space. Two things to know:
- Drag-and-drop needs a mouse. Moving cards on the Kanban board uses mouse drag-and-drop, which doesn't work with touch or the keyboard. Instead, open the story and change its status in the edit dialog. See Why can't I drag cards on a touchscreen?
- Few keyboard shortcuts. Esc closes dialogs, but there are no other shortcuts. See Does LocalPM have dark mode or keyboard shortcuts?
LocalPM also has a dark and light theme toggle if you find one easier to read.
No formal conformance claim
The site doesn't claim conformance with any formal accessibility standard or level. If something is hard to use, your browser's zoom and display settings may help, since the pages use standard text and links.
