Why can't I drag cards on a touchscreen?
The Kanban board uses mouse-based drag and drop, which touchscreens don't support. On a phone or tablet, open the story from the Backlog view and change its Status field instead.
LocalPM's board uses the browser's standard HTML5 drag and drop, which responds to a mouse or trackpad but not to touch gestures. On a phone or tablet, pressing and dragging a card won't move it. This is a current limitation, not a problem with your device.
Workaround: change the status in the story
You can make exactly the same change without dragging:
- Open your project and select Backlog in the sidebar. On a small screen, you may need to open the sidebar with the menu button first.
- Find the story. The Status filter above the list can help narrow it down.
- Tap the story's row to open the Edit Story dialog.
- Change Status to the column you want: To Do, In Progress, In Review, or Done.
- Tap Update.
When you go back to the Board, the card appears in its new column.
Other options
- Use a computer for board work: if you do a lot of moving cards, a laptop or desktop with a mouse or trackpad is faster.
- Connect a mouse or trackpad: some tablets support a pointer device, but whether drag and drop works then depends on your device and browser, so treat it as something to try rather than a guaranteed fix.
Keep in mind
Your LocalPM data is stored separately in each browser on each device. Projects you created on your computer won't appear on your phone. See Does LocalPM work offline or across devices?
