How do I fix or re-download my certificate?

Go back to the course page in the same browser where you passed, enter your name correctly, and download the PDF again. This works any time, as long as your progress is still in that browser.

After you pass a course's knowledge check, you can download the certificate again at any time from the same browser. There's no need to retake anything.

Re-download your certificate

  1. Open the course from the PDU catalog in the same browser and profile you used when you passed.
  2. Go to the certificate section of the course page.
  3. Enter your name and download the PDF again.

Fix a typo in your name

Just enter your name again, spelled the way you want it, and download a new PDF. The name is used only to draw the PDF in your browser and is never sent to a server. If you chose to have your browser remember your name, check that the saved version is correct before downloading.

About the date and certificate ID

The certificate shows your completion date and a certificate ID. The same name and date regenerate the same certificate ID, so a re-downloaded copy matches your original.

If you corrected your name, keep the corrected certificate for your records and use its details for your PMI claim. Whatever date appears on the certificate you keep is the completion date to report.

If the course page no longer knows you passed

Progress is stored only in that browser on that device. If you cleared site data, used a private window, or switched browsers or devices, the course starts over and you'll need to watch and pass it again to generate a new certificate. See Why did my course progress disappear?

Keep a copy

Save every certificate outside your browser as soon as you download it. It's your main evidence if PMI audits your claim. Read What should I keep in case of a PMI audit?
