How do the PDU courses relate to the book?

The PDU courses and The Project Brain are separate but connected. The courses are free companions to the book and the blog. The book is a paid, in-depth guide sold on Amazon.

Does reading the book earn PDUs?

No. The book is not a PDU course and doesn't come with a certificate. PDU credit on this site comes only from completing a course on its course page: watching the video, passing the knowledge check, and downloading your certificate. Credit is based on the learning time you record there. See How is PDU credit calculated for each course?.

Which courses extend the book

Several courses build on ideas from the book:

• Build Your Own AI-Powered PMO with Claude is closest to the book's core idea of a persistent Project Brain.
• Advanced Prompt Engineering: The PB&J Framework goes deeper on writing prompts for project deliverables.
• What Is AI Fluency? Master AI Skills from Prompts to Strategy covers using AI deliberately at work.
• Agentic AI and Computer Use for Project Managers looks at AI that takes actions.

The other courses cover broader PM skills, such as estimation, stakeholder engagement, and change control, that the book's AI workflows support. More on the AI set is in Which PDU courses cover AI for project managers?.

How they fit together

• Courses give you a focused video lesson, a knowledge check, and a certificate you can self-report to PMI.
• Companion blog articles cover each course's topic in writing, for example Build Your Own PMO with Claude.
• The book is the full, step-by-step blueprint for building an AI-powered PMO, with more depth than any single course.

You don't need the book to take any course, and you don't need the courses to follow the book. To learn more about the book, read What does the book cover? or Where can I buy The Project Brain?.

The courses are self-reported under PMI's Online or Digital Media category. Self Made PM is not a PMI Authorized Training Partner. Browse all 23 in the PDU catalog.
