Can anyone else see my LocalPM data?

Not through LocalPM. Your data stays in your browser's local storage on your device and is never sent to a server, so no one, including the site owner, can see it remotely.

LocalPM has no accounts, no sign-up, and no server. Everything you enter is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device, and nothing is sent anywhere. That means the site owner, other LocalPM users, and anyone browsing selfmadepm.com can't see your projects.

Who can see it

Because the data lives on your device, the question is really who can use that browser:

  • Anyone who uses the same browser profile on your computer can open LocalPM and see your projects. There's no password or lock inside LocalPM.
  • Other browser profiles and other browsers on the same computer can't see it. Each one has its own separate storage.
  • Other devices can't see it. There's no sync, so your phone won't show what you created on your laptop.

On a shared or work computer

If other people use the same computer or browser profile:

  1. Use your own operating system account or a separate browser profile for LocalPM.
  2. Remember that private or incognito windows discard LocalPM data when they close, so they're not a practical way to keep work.
  3. Keep sensitive details out of story titles and descriptions if you can't control who uses the browser.

Your organization's IT policies may also apply to work devices, so check with them if you're unsure.

No collaboration by design

Since nothing leaves your browser, LocalPM can't be shared with teammates. There's no multi-user mode. If you need to show progress, share it another way, such as a screenshot of the board or a summary in your status report.

Why LocalPM works this way

For the technical details of where the data sits, see Where does LocalPM store my data? For everything the site does with data, read the Privacy Policy.
